Breakthrough new High Performance Computing designs unveiled at Europe’s premier geoscience event
Bull’s Extreme Computing BU will be exhibiting at the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers’ annual conference and exhibition, to be held this year at the International Convention Centre in Barcelona.
On the Bull booth at EAGE will be two unique Bull blade products, the bullx 500 standard HPC blade and GPU blade systems. This family of super-dense HPC blades won the HPCwire Editor’s Choice award for ‘Best HPC product’ when first shown at the Supercomputing conference in November 2009. The GPU blade system incorporates two NVIDIA Fermi ® GPUs inside each blade, together with double QDR InfiniBand, and was specifically designed for 3D seismic imaging.
Bull will also show the newly-announced bullx supernode cc-NUMA (cache-coherent Non Uniform Memory Access ) shared-memory system, which scales to 128 cores and 128 memory slots, achieving over one Terabyte of cache-coherent single memory address space per node. This technology will enable high performance in tomography, visualization and reservoir simulation applications.
Bull’s application specialists and software partners CAPS, with their unique HMPP GPU compiler middleware, can deliver a comprehensive service to migrate and parallelize codes, from initial proofs of concept through to production codes which are robust, portable and able to generate stunning results.
Bull can deliver innovative platforms for seismic imaging, interpretation, basin modelling and reservoir simulation, and can offer different deployment possibilities, from fixed and temporary processing facilities, together with emerging ‘cloud computing’ portal-based hosting and remote-access delivery platforms, including remote visualization.
Please come and visit us at Booth 136, Area C, and see how we can help you to reach your HPC goals !

Bull Evidian's international seminar Authentication management for Banking and Finance Paris, March 12
|
How can you secure application access in a heterogeneous environment, taking into account the specificities of the banking and finance industry?
Generic security solutions are not effective; security must adapt to business risks. Regulatory frameworks also have a strong influence. Security tools must integrate this essential dimension and be more user-oriented. Thus, an administrator will have different needs than a branch employee, who in turn requires different functionality than a trader. For example, securing a trading room requires a focus on identity management, access control, attribution and traceability of operations - with very specific constraints. Existing authentication solutions are diverse. Among these, those based on strong authentication are the most successful to date. Moreover, a trader uses an average of over five screens - complete management and flexible authentication of clusters of PCs is essential.
Evidian launches a new authentication management solution dedicated to the banking and finance industry. During this event, you will see customer testimonials, presentations and demonstrations.
Agenda
3:00pm : Welcome on Les Bateaux Parisiens
3:15 pm : Evidian directions by Hassan Maad, COO, Evidian
3:30 pm : Announcement: A new solution for authentication management in the banking and finance industry

Gartner Identity and Access Management Summit 2010 Royal Lancaster Hotel, London, 3-4 March 2010
|
Today every enterprise performs identity and access management (IAM). Whoever its users are - its workforce, its business partners, its online customers - managing their digital identities and their access to corporate systems, data and other assets is critical.
IAM is now established as a cornerstone of information security - an effective IAM program can realize benefits in cost reduction, regulatory compliance and IT governance.
However, relatively few enterprises in Europe have a formal IAM program in place - nearly half are only developing processes and investigating tools, and more than a quarter are still defining processes and using only basic tools.
To reach maturity, an enterprise must refine and optimize its IAM processes and integrate tools within the framework of an IAM architecture that maps to the enterprise architecture and aligns with business needs. Engaging stakeholders across the business, making the business case, and orchestrating all the technologies and other elements within a well-governed IAM program also remain significant challenges.
Evidian is a Platinum Sponsor of the Gartner IAM Summit, and will be happy to welcome you to their booth.

STAR European Conference 2009 London, March 23-25
|
The theme of the STAR European Conference 2009 is:
Integrate. Automate. Innovate!
Held on March 23, 24, 25 at an exclusive London venue, the conference will focus on Automated CAE analysis, in which multiple simulations are performed with minimal user intervention. Adopting this philosophy not only provides a more complete picture of how a product actually performs in service, but helps to free the user from the mechanics of actually performing the CFD calculations, providing more time for true engineering analysis and thus leading to unprecedented innovation.
The conference will explore in detail the many benefits of deploying Automation in your CAE process:
- Simulation of the entire design space, not just a few selective points.
- Reduction in user error and associated run-time costs.
- Ensure workflow consistency amongst global engineering teams
- Spend more time innovating and less time modeling.
Bull will exhibit its HPC solutions at the STAR European Conference 2009. Visit the Bull booth!

Gartner Identity & Access Management Summit 2009 Royal Lancaster Hotel, in London, 23-24 March 2009
|
